Horse Riding Holidays at Underhill Farm
Underhill Farm is situated in a spectacular part of the mid Wales countryside, surrounded by unspoilt stunning scenery, and ideal for exploring on horseback. For nearly 30 years we have been guiding people from all walks of life around this wonderful part of the world on our handpicked horses and ponies.
With the addition of the popular glamping pods to our already well established riding school and stables, we are now able to offer horse riding holidays to riders of all ages and abilities.
The Riding School is open all year round, Tuesdays to Sundays, from 9am till 5pm. (We are closed on Mondays.)
Guests staying in our glamping pods get 10% off standard lesson and hacking sessions, with further discounts available for longer stays/ more sessions.
Horse Riding Sessions and Lessons
Hacking
We offer hacking sessions for riders aged 4 and over, and of all abilities.
Less experienced riders are normally offered a half hour or one hour fully guided session, over our fantastic farmland and often right up to the top of the hill.
More experienced riders may wish to book a two hour session, or even a full day hack with the opportunity to go for a good gallop, explore the the wider local area including the Radnor Forest, and perhaps take in a local pub lunch.
Whatever your ability, our experienced and friendly staff will ensure you have a safe, relaxed and fun ride.
Riding Lessons
Riding lessons are completely tailored to suit the needs of the rider and take place in one of our two floodlit outdoor arenas. There is no upper or lower age limit.
Dependent on the week’s schedule, you can join a group session, or book individual and semi-private lessons. You are advised to book well in advance for individual and semi-private lessons as slots can fill up quickly.

Please note, before booking your hacking session, you will need to complete an assessment with Jess over the phone to make sure the session you book is suitable for your ability and condition.

Prices
Guests who have booked our glamping pod accommodation receive a 10% discount on the prices stated below.
Group lessons and hacking for beginners and less experienced riders
- 30 minute starter/ hack session for adults or children – £20*
- 60 minute lesson/ hack session for adults – £35*
- 60 minute lesson/ hack session for children – £30*
(*Part lesson/ part hack each session)
- 90 minute hack for adults/children – £50
Hacking for more experienced riders
- 2 hour hack – for more experienced adults/children – £60
- Day ride – only for experienced riders, and subject to availability* – £100
(*Please note lunch is not included. You can bring your own supplies, or we can schedule a stop at a local pub.)
Individual Lessons
- 30 minute individual lesson for adults/ children – £40
- 45 minute individual lesson (regular customers only, with instructor recommendation) – £50
